Travis Wood allows two runs in no-decision

Cubs pitcher Travis Wood turned in a quality start Sunday, giving up just two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four in six innings, but he did not factor into the decision in his team’s 3-2 loss to the Pirates.

Wood has turned in back-to-back impressive outings, giving up a total of two earned runs in 13 innings on the road against the Reds and Pirates. He brings a 9-11 record, 3.05 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 136:60 K:BB ratio into Saturday’s scheduled start against the Braves.
