Maximum Fantasy Sports has released their fantasy football Mock Draft for the 2009 fantasy football season. Mock Drafts are very useful tools to assist fantasy football participants when executing fantasy football online drafts or establishing pre-rankings for fantasy football offline drafts. While many fantasy football sites provide a de facto ranking system, to truly succeed at fantasy football, participants need to have a successful draft. Mock Drafts are a huge time-saver when compared to analyzing all players at the various skill positions for the 32 teams found in the NFL. When evaluating the NFL players, Maximum Fantasy Sports assumed a standard league scoring configuration. The configuration assumes starting a starting roster of 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K and 1 D/ST. Points are awarded for the following actions:
Passing: 1 point for every 25 yards, 4 points for each Touchdown, and -2 for each Interception
Rushing: 1 point for every 10 yards, 6 points for each Touchdown, and -2 for each fumble lost
Receiving: 1 point for every 10 yards, 6 points for each Touchdown
Kicking: 3 points for every Field Goal made and 1 point for each successful Extra Point
Defense: 2 points for every fumble covered, 2 points for every interception, 1 point for every sack, 2 points for each shutout and 2 points for each safety
The Mock Draft is 16 rounds in length and assumes 12 teams are participating in the league. The round-by-round picks with comments can be found on the Maximum Fantasy Sports website at http://www.maximumfantasysports.com/. The Mock Draft is far too large to list in this article.
There are many other fantasy football scoring statistics and scoring systems that can be used, so make sure to make adjustments to the draft positions based on scoring differences found in your league before drafting your team. You definitely want to make adjustments to certain wide receivers and running backs if you are playing in a league that awards Points Per reception (PPR). These points make possession receivers and pass-catching running backs more valuable.
Maximum Fantasy Sports is the only Fantasy Football site that allows both player and position draft pre-ranks, giving Maximum Fantasy Sports the most sophisticated draft control in the fantasy sports industry. These pre-ranking tools allow league participants to provide the draft control with the drafting philosophy of its owners. There is a greater likelihood that the draft control will draft a team that the owner will be happy with if the owner is not present at a live online draft.
Maximum Fantasy Sports is the only fantasy football website to allow Commissioners to configure a league with in-game player changes. This feature is optional, but, when used, gives the manager the ability to immediately react to injuries or player benching situations and substitute in another player at that position for the remaining unplayed quarters or half of that fantasy player’s game.
Maximum Fantasy Sports offers private one-season and Keeper leagues as well as a variety of Public fantasy football leagues that offer a cash prize. Maximum Fantasy Sports hosts Survivor Pools, Confidence Pools and Pick ’em Pools for free.
